Blepta Studios Ostrich egg decorated with dye and beeswax resist Ceramic tiles in the majolica style Goose eggshell pieces epoxied and made into jewelry

OPENING IN NOVEMBER Located together with PIVO Brewery on the north edge of Calmar, Blepta Studios is your destination for relaxation. Social art classes are offered in a variety of media, including painting canvases and ceramics. The owner, Sara Neuzil, makes gorgeous batik eggs and majolica ceramic tiles. They're perfect for gift-giving or to brighten your own home. The name Blepta was a nickname Sara's grandpa called her when she was very little. He said it meant "chatterbox" in Czech. Looking in the Czech dictionary, we find "blecha" which means flea or annoying insect! Sara chose to keep the spelling she thought she heard as well as the softer definition that went with it.
