    Saturday, June 2 @ 7:00 p.m.
Center for Faith and Life, Main Hall

    NSAA GRAND CONCERT
Over two hundred men from ten Midwest Norwegian American male choruses will blend their voices to sing Scandinavian and traditional and contemporary American choral pieces. Several will be accompanied by an orchestra. Rachel Storlie, a soprano from Spring Grove, MN,
and Chad Sonka, a baritone, from Ames, IA, will each sing a segment. The concert is under the direction of Dr. David Judisch, NSAA Director-in-Chief from Decorah, and Terry Walter, NSAA Assistant Director from Sioux Falls. Translations of Scandinavian pieces will be provided in the program.

The Luren Singers celebrate their 150th anniversary this year! They sing at weddings, funerals, and retirement parties; however, they mainly travel to churches across the Midwest. Under the direction of Dr. David Judisch, the group sings many hymns and a large variety of Norwegian songs. The Luren Choir began with four Norwegian-Americans in 1867 who commemorated their heritage by singing songs from Norway. They named themselves the “Luren Quartet” as the Lur, a Norwegian instrument, was the focal point of their musical sound.
