Northeast Iowa is a haven for snowmobilers. With hundreds of miles of groomed trails, we offer this extreme sport to the more adventurous type. Why travel to Minnesota or even Montana when you can get the same rush right here in Iowa.

Each trail system is maintained by local trail clubs. Their job is to keep all trails clear of debris and well marked with appropriate signage to keep you moving and keep you safe. The Winneshiek Trail Twisters is the local trail group, led by President Jake Ludeking. If you need to reach him for any reason, call 563-380-6747 to request a map be sent to you. (Follow the Winneshiek Trail Twisters on Facebook; they have organized rides, events and snow shows throughout the year.)

In 2010 brand new signage was installed along the trails, thanks to a grant from the Winneshiek County Community Foundation. Signs will help you navigate the trails and easily find amenities like hotels, restaurants and gas stations.

Detailed trail maps are also available online, check out the website here.

Plenty of gas stations, restaurants, bars and lodging are located close to our trail systems. Need gear? A snowmobile repair? Or have detailed trail questions? Feel free to contact our local snowmobile and ATV outfitter:
